Complaint / Review
Priority Financial Group
Takes your money upront and does not perform the services promised

First off I informed this company that I would be contacting the BBB. The told me that they no longer care about their BBB rating because they told me that they think the BBB is an extortionist company. That should tell you something about the character of the people running this Priority Financial Group. I originally chose to go with this company solely because they had a BBB rating that THEY ADVERTISED and I confirmed as an A. Reading any complaints at the time they always seemed to make it right with a refund so I didn't worry. However I had watched their BBB rating slip to a C - and finally an F as they stopped caring.

Second I told them that I would take them to court to get my money back and they proceeded to tell me that they have a lawyer team that will fight me. As I cannot afford my mortgage I cannot afford a lawyer to fight my case so what chance do I have?

I started a loan modification in Apr. Gave all the info, paperwork etc that was asked for. This company said that they would do all the paper work including the hardship letter and took information from me to write this. I started working with Joaquin who was helpful. He later left the company and my case was given to his branch manager John De La Garza. John has been very hard to get a hold of. I have to email and call several time to get him to respond once. Always gave excuses such as vacation, sickness etc.

I got a letter from guild mortgage about 6 months into this process saying that they need several things to finish the loan mod. Priority Financial group neglected to inform me that these things were needed. Wasted time! However I completed them and turned them in.

Guild send another letter stating that they do not yet have the hardship letter and thats all the need. Even more wasted time!!! I was reassured that they would do this. They did not however and I got a letter from Guild that they need this and since it was so long that they would need all my pay stubs and bills again. Even more wasted time I have sent in many copies of pay stubs since all this began. I now have gotten a letter that says my loan mod is denied.

I decided that since I am in the National guard facing a deployment at that time I could no longer count on or wait on this company. I will not leave all this (foreclosure, finding a new place to live, etc) for my wife to face alone while I am gone. According to the contact it says in black and white that each item will be completed by a certain date or it will be refunded. That date is long past. John says its just estimates. I also have a 100% money back guarantee that Priority Financial will not honor. They said that they will give a refund based on "earned fees." A refund based on "earned fees" would only refund me about $25. They did not do their job of writing a simple hardship letter and now they "earned" all but $25 of the $1632!!

They charged me an advanced fee. California created SB 94 to make it illegal to charge advanced fee's however too late for me since it became effective in Oct. Its is because of unscrupulous companies like this one that this law was made for.

House is now in foreclosure and time has run out.

They has also illegally advised me to go late on payments. (I have emails to prove this). I will be writing a complaint to the California DRE to investigate this.

Finally I wrote a few emails to the president David Gomez and they were all completely ignored.
