I wanted to share my story of US Bank's deceptive and manipulative banking practices.
I'm going to lay the math out here as it will make my confusion and anger easier to understand:
Account balance: $92.32
Withdrawl: $64.01
Account balance: $28.31
Withdrawl: $6.73
Account balance: $21.58 (Looks normal so far, right? Here's where it gets dirty.)
Overdraft fee: $37.50
Account balance: -$15.92
Overdraft fee: $37.50
Account balance: -$53.42 (When was the account negative???!??!?!?!)
Withdrawl: $39.97
Account balance: -$93.39
Deposit: $502.44
Account balance: $409.05
Overdraft fee: $37.50
Now I freely and openly admit, had all 3 withdrawals gone through, in order, I would have overdrawn my account, and would have readily accepted an overdraft fee. ONE overdraft fee. No sweat. I'm not an idiot, nor seeking anything unfair; I made a mistake, plain and simple. But the 2 early overdraft fees made the account negative! And how in God's name was I overdrafted with a positive balance in my account? The first 2 withdrawals were paid and clear, with a positive balance remaining! I'm sure they're going to try and talk their way out of it without doing anything to rectify this disgusting situation, as it seems plenty of other unsuspecting people here have gotten bilked out of plenty of money before me by these dirtbags.US Bank is unbelievable. I cannot imagine what excuses they are going to try to throw at me for this somehow being legitimate. Absolutely ridiculous! My only real recourse is going to be to close my account and count my losses I would imagine. I am hoping to use my position in the company I work for to do more though. This rotten, thieving bank does the credit card processing for several of our sites, and I would love nothing more than to move our business elsewhere. I will definitely update if I find out anything more. What a joke of a company.
