When you make a debit or withdrawal, it reflects in your balance right away. When the bank charges $34 overdraft fees, those entries do not show up right away.in other words as soon as you are overdrawn there should show a pending transaction for $34. But they don't do it that way.
I had one of there numb skull customer service reps tell me that overdraft fees can show up anytime during the day. I told her that was just part of the sick games banks play. I had a negative balance on a friday so on the following monday I made a deposit to cover the negative balance by the close of business. The negative balance did not reflect the overdraft fees so on tuesday morning when I checked my account they took there overdraft fees which caused other items to bounce. It was pretty ridiculous!
They will only credit back overdraft fees if it is a bank error. I just wish when it is a bank error that we can charge them a fee.
