Wells Fargo Bank
Stole $200 from Cash ATM Deposit

Where do I start with my nightmarish experience. I can't say it's the amount of the money, but I can say it's the principle that this act should not have happened, and I'm pissed.

As the other reports on this site suggest, Wells Fargo has horrible customer service reps. And even worst Fraud investigators whom could care less. On September 17 very close to 4:00pm instead of waiting in line I deposited $400 cash through an in store Wells Fargo ATM at Seaside Oregon. Over the weekend I recieved a letter saying and I quote "On 9/18/03, we processed an Express ATM deposit of $400 to your account number XXXX-XXXXXX. The deposit amount entered at the ATM was $400, but the actual amount received in the envelope was $200." and the letter goes on.

I opened an ATM fraud investigation right away. I reported to them that I had counted the money three times even in front of the machine, and told them the exact denomination and number of the bills I had deposited. Today 9/26/03 after having called everyday, even several times a day I was told my claim had been denied. Before my claim being denied I went into another local Wells Fargo Bank which I deal with and spoke with my favorite teller Sheri and she went well out of her way to help me. She had even spoken with my actual fraud investigator telling her (by the way her name is Tina and she has a foreign accent) "She definately believed I was telling the truth". I guess that Tina didn't care what another Wells Fargo believed, because my claim was denied.

I will go up as far as I can to get my money back. I also found out today that the Seaside location had no Cameras at all, so if anyone had taken it out directly as they emptied the ATM it can't be proven nore disproven. I am thinking about taking my four kids down with signs in front of the Wells Fargo. I also know tellers must be bonded, I'm going to try to go after all the employees bonds, I can't prove who did it so I blaim them all. I also plan to speak with the local Newspaper, and file complaints with The Bar Association, General Attorney, and Better Business Burea. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
