Here is my story about FCNB. I did not receive a statement from them for 2 months. Knowing my payment was due on the 20th of every month, I mailed the checks for those 2 months on time. When I did not receive a statement for the 3rd time, I wrote them a letter saying its not right what they are doing and I want my statements. (I checked with the bank and those 2 checks were cashed)
So I get a letter the other day from card processing center saying my payment from last month is past due and that I owe a $35.00 late fee. So today when I came home from work, I checked my caller ID and there is a # on there I dont recognize, 516-576-8785. There was 5 calls from them. Now my phone is ringing and its that # again, and this guy says he's calling regarding my newport news account and that my payment is past due. So I tell him that I have not received my statement for 3 months and he tells me that I have. Then I tell him that I have mailed 2 checks without a statement and he says"well if you knew where to mail it to you should have paid it for last month"
Well I started to get very irratated and told him I know what they have been doing to people with the late fees and scamming everybody and he hung up on me.
I have have this card for 3 years and have always made my payments on time. Now they are going to ruin my credit. Sorry this is so long.
