This "company" found my name from Network Solutions' website. (We were nearing foreclosure proceedings.) HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS pretended to be sponsored by Network Solutions, even using a Network Solutions' logo. Actually, Network Sol. Had never heard of hope now mitigations. Hope Now Mitigations was, in fact, working out of an attorney's office, unbeknownst to him. HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS claimed to have att'ys on staff. Not true. They were using info the atty received to effect their DIRTY DEEDS.
The pressure for $ began immed. However INCONSISTENCIES were noted. For example,
"Aaron has been working with [our mortgage co.] and we should have the results by the time we receive the check."
VS. "We can't get started until we have the check."
VS." We are in middle of process with [our lender]. Please send your check to HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS..."
(I have these emails.)

At one point Aaron Schulman was "begging [us] not to speak with [our lender] as that might jeopardize [his] dealings with them." This I have on tape On our phone.
Then HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS wrote out a 100% money-back guarantee if we were NOT SATISFIED with them. This THEY REFUSED TO HONOR!
Near the end of our "association", the original, honest atty answered their phone when I called, saying, "AARON SCHULMAN, BETTY BERRY and others had STOLEN ILL-GOTTEN FILES from his office, and disappeared." He was most apologetic that he did not know what they were up to in his office. He is SUING AARON SCHULMAN and others, for using his name, theft...
Finally, AARON SCHULMAN LIED claiming to have a "special in" with our lender's V.P. HA!
In the end, WE contacted our lender who said, "It sounds like A SCAM to me!" AARON SCHULMAN had "advised" us to ignore certain dates, such as foreclosure hearings, etc. Causing no end of trouble. WE negotiated a lower interest rate/payments ON OUR OWN. I have names and dates of telephone contacts WE made. AARON SCHULMAN did try to call our lender a couple of times, never getting passed customer service. That is documented as well.
Our last verbal contact with HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS informed us that he was "waiting to make sure [our lender] had rec'd the documents he sent." WHAT??!?? Our lender requested our 2008 tax return and last 3 bank statements from us. AARON SCHULMAN did not have these. ("... Documents he sent"?!?)
Before we finalized the DEAL WE MADE, we sent a demand letter to insist they honor the written 100% satisfaction guarantee. Only response was an angry phone message filled with LIES from AARON SCHULMAN.
The New Jersey BBB contacted HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS only to rec. (months after the deadline) a letter of, guess what? LIES and inconsistencies. I recommend you read this complaint ID# 8092229 filed with the BBB on Aug. 11.
Note: hope now mitigations should not be confused with hope now cares which is an honest, not-for-profit, legitimate organization.
Yes, we were desperate and REALLY stupid. NEVER DEAL WITH HOPE NOW MITIGATIONS SCAMMERS!
Don't throw away $4,537.34 as we did.
