On July 24, I received a call from Michael Lepore who stated he was employed as vice president of Express Home Solutions.
I was behind in my mortgage and he offered to help me with a loan modification which made me very happy. I was struggling financially which I thought this would be the best thing that happened to me in a long time.
He quoted me as getting a 2 to 3 percent interest rate. My two mortgages combined first is 9.6% and 2nd Mortgage is 11.2%. I thought this was the deal I had wanted for a long time. He was very outspoken. He seemed to care about me, my family, and our financial hardship.
He told me the situation was Crucial. All documents had to be federal expressed asap along with a certified check made out to Express Modifications for $1,500. He promised he would pay the next two months mortgage for me to avoid foreclosure which should of totaled $3,000. I had this package ready for pick up on August 8. I got a call when he received it and said everything looked great. Do not worry about anything just relax the bank cannot foreclose on your home.in two days the foreclosure process will be stopped.
I did not have no contact with Mr. Lepore until September 4. He said that I had to fax more paperwork which I did once more saying they never received certain documents. It was the second or third time I faxed these documents. Why are they always getting lost. A few more weeks passed no return calls or emails. The first week of October he called saying the modification looked good. It would take a few days for the negotiator to look at it in determining my situation.in the meantime, I kept getting letters and phone calls from my mortgage company. I was getting worried more each day. I continue to call with no return message.
Then on Monday, November 16 at approximately 4:30, the doorbell rang. It was the State Marshal serving me my foreclosure notice. I was livid. I contacted the mortgage company that told me no such modification had been received and they do not do third party modifications. I had been ripped off by this unreliable company. I called Mr. Lepore the next morning in which he wanted me to fax over the summons, but I have gotten everything to my attorney who will take over from here. Now I have to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
What a con artist, liar, and selfish person he is to do this to me. I am alone with two kids at home, one is disabled. I am widowed and this really hurts me bad. Working two jobs is tough. I want my $1,500 refunded as soon as possible. That money should have been sent to my mortgage company months ago. I have contacted the BBB of New York and going to write the Attorney General. I need to save my home: (
Please do not do business with Express Home Solutions or Express Modifcations. They are a scam!!!
