American Security Insurance Company is currently providing flood insurance for me to cover a home that I no longer own. The house was sold a year prior to the insurance policy.
The policy was obtained by Chase Mortgage to cover the balance on a line of credit that was previously opened on this home and was supposed to be transferred into the equity on a new home purchase. This was not done so the LOC is still under the old address which is owned and insured by the current owner. There are 2 policies on this home at this time.
Repeated attempts over the last 14 months to resolve this issue with Chase and American Security have been useless. I am told the only way to cancel the policy is to provide proof of another insurance policy.
Has anyone ever heard of another company that will write a policy for property that belongs to someone else?
