Flood Insurance - Rip Off - Washington State Insurance Comm. Will Help Forced into non-necessary and outlandish flood insurance

Wanted to add my two bits to the flood insurance issue.

I was forced into $1700/annual flood insurance by Chase Manhatten and I wasn't in a flood zone.

I got the royal run around from Chase...

Resolution: Got copy of Platte Map and sent to FEMA along with insurance info and lender info. FEMA notified Chase.

Points:

FEMA insurance would have cost $50 per annum vs. $1700 at Chase Manhatten's own insurance company.

I was paying, PMI, Homeowners Insurance (paint in) and building insurance (paint out) was part of home owner dues.

Insurance commisser got involved. Things got fixed. I had too much insurance and could never have collected. Chase paid back 1 of 3 years.
