I responded to an unsolicited phone call about a franchise for a website that was marketing software to place businesses on first page of Google and MSN. I checked the arizona BBB, and found no complaints against the company. After I purchased a diamond package and 1000 leads, which would allow me to receive $350 for each company who purchased the software, I checked the website and talked to a now-deceased friend who knew about computers, and it did seem to be a valid deal. Three days later the top salesman Tom James called me and convinced me to but a 12-months lead program, to generate leads other than the ones that my "website"would generate. He said there had been one sale, which would go toward the purchase of the program. I paid $1,000 for this program, which had a 12month guarantee. I called one month later, and was told that ten companies were in demo, and that I would soon receive payment. I received nothing, and kept calling the company. After the first phone call, the mailboxes were always full, and multiple emails went unanswered. I began asking for a refund in September via email, with no response. I filed a complaint with the BBB, the company ignored their two letters. I have since filed a complaint with the FBI and will file one with the FTC, and will continue to email the company daily as well as call them. They owe me the refund, and the website is still up so I know the company is still in business. They are heartless, selfish individuals, and I hope that I can have some effect on any business, since in my opinion the owners are criminals and don't deserve to make any profits, no matter how good the product they are selling is.
