I was charged an overdraft fee of 108$ on Sunday. I electronically transferred 109$ into my account on Sunday morning, giving me a positive balance. Checking my balance on the following Tuesday 111$ was taken from my account in overdraft fees.
After calling the bank, they told me that when they post your overdraft fee for that day, the NEXT DAY they post the extra charges for the previous day (not including those charges with the original overdraft charges from the previous day).
Fifth Third Bank I feel is a rip-off because if they say you are overdraft 108$, it should be 108$ (giving you a false security by transferring 109$ in your account to make you think you are at a positive balance, but then the next day adding extra fees and enabling them to take more of your money). All overdrafts and fees should be posted for that day, not waiting for the next business day to add extra fees. Now I know why they took over 200$ from me last month, and almost 200$ this month.
Soon I will close my account and go to another bank that is not so corrupt.
