I opened a Gateway account. Was making the required payments, with out evening checking my billing, I would send my payment. One particular billing I noticed the payment amount changed. I contacted them and was informed that my last to payment were late, and I was being charged late service fees.
After reviewing my records and several phone calls with them later, my account was corrected. They also suggested that I send my payments earlier. At the time I was sending them 10 days in advance, so I didn't know how much earlier they needed to be.
Just one month later I was sent a notice that my account had been sold to EMCC Servicing Gateway LCC. The bad thing is they couldnt tell me why. I tried to contact both Gateway and EMCC but, the only real explanation I could receive was that Gateway was no longer offering financing.
The payment processing with EMCC didn't change only worsened. My payment were being made in a timely manner, but were processed one to two days after my due date, and I was being charged late fees. I constantly stated in debate with them.
Bottom line, I made a huge mistake when I became a customer with Gateway. I have just about paid them off. I was online trying to check the status of my account (due to the fact that I am currently deployed with the military, and using bill pay), to see what the balance is, if any. I came across this web site, hate taht it happened, but glad to know it wasnt just me.
