I had just bought a engagement ring for my fiance'. I was called by the jeweler and was told that my debit card was declined. I then checked my online account information and found that there was a $79.95 charge from CIC Credit Monitor Service. I had no idea what this was and instantly called my bank to find out what was going on. They in turn told me that if I was unfamiliar with the charge and didn't authorize it then I would have to file a dispute.
I filed the dispute and my bank credited my account the $79.95 (provisional credit) and the engagement ring purchase transaction ended up going through FINALLY.
It was a nerve racking day to say the least. I still don't know what happens next perhaps I will read some more information and try and settle this whole ordeal for good.
This website is an excellent idea, however, I wish I would have saw this information BEFORE all this happened
