Falk Companies collected insurance premiums of approximately $12,000 from us. Falk elected to be a self-insured company which means they are responsible for paying the claims but for 2 years we have had claims of approximately $28,000 left unpaid.
We are being harassed and threatened by medical providers and collection agencies and one of my daughter's doctors has threatened not to see her until her bills are paid. My daughter had open-heart surgery at 10 weeks (Falk knows this) to save her life. We don't need the threat of losing her doctors all because Falk simply won't live up to their responsibility.
We have numerous e-mails from Falk acknowledging our claims. We have a letter from the Federal DOL verifying that Falk owes the money but say there's nothing they can do. Falk told the Federal DOL in writing that they would pay our claims by August but as of today (5/23/03) they still haven't paid a dime of these outstanding claims. Falk refuses to return our calls and the calls of the medical providers.
