Homecomings Financial
I truly believe homecomings is either in the business of forclosure or just rip off waterloo iowa

This story is not something actually happened to me but to my neighbor two doors down. I know Maria quite well and 3 days ago she asked me to read over some papers she had received from Homecomings as a loan modification. The first thing that caught my attention is they were requiring her to pay $655 upfront in the form of certified funds. I have re-financed my home 3 times in the last 7 years and have never paid an upfront fee. When I brought that up to her she told me that Kenneth assured her that there would not be any upfront monies required. It was clearly in the paperwork and I told her no matter what he said verbally if she signed those papers she would be liable for that payment. She decided to not go with their loan modification.
On the face of it that was the end of this but then the story really starts to get better. She came over that evening and told me that her bigger problem was that she had been trying to make her house payment online as she did every month but the system would not allow her to make the payment. Maria said she had called multiple times from work and was told that her loan was in the loss & litigation department. At this point the payment was only 12 days late with a 15 day grace period. She told me that they refused to allow the payment to be made and would only transfer her to the loss & litigation department & then the next thing she heard was a dial tone.
I found this incredibly difficult to believe so asked her to bring me her statement etc. Then I tried calling and exactly the same things happened. They refused her payment, would not clear the block on her account so she could pay online and transfers to the "loss & litigation" department were met with dialtones. I kept calling and finally got a live person who told me that Maria's account wasn't blocked she didn't have a online account so she wasn't able to pay online. I asked her if she would look up how the payment was made last month and she actually did that. She came back on the line and said that well, yes that is how Maria had been paying. She actually did try to be helpful and told me to try it again right then on the computer but she truly didn't believe it would work but I think she will not keep her job there as she did try to help. It seems the norm there is to lie to you, transfer you or just simply disconnect. The next morning I got up at 5:30 AM and started calling with all the same results. I finally did get a woman on the phone who of course refused to speak to me about Maria's account but she was on her way over. I kept her on the phone (all the time she was telling me she was going to hang up on me, I asked to speak to a supervisor and she told me that this was not a 'supervisor' call) Long story now but Maria did speak to this woman who again & again refused to take her payment but when asked if she should have her attorney call to make the payment she did take it but then had the audacity to charge her an extra $12 for "payment by phone!" I truly do not understand a mortgage company acting this irresponsible. What is their 'real' business? Home foreclosures? And if so why? Do they have another company buying up foreclosed properties as speculation of increased value at a future date? By the way the block has still not been removed from the online site so if she wanted to make her July payment early at this point she couldn't. RIP OFF COMPANY! Does anyone know how to report this type to any government agency? You would think under the President Obama's plans that they could fine this company millions for simply put them out of business.
