Homecomings Financial
Bad Accounting

My 2nd mortgage was sold from Mortgage Lenders Network to Homecomings in February. MLN made the February payment several days late. They also made the March payment late by 30 days. The April payment is where things get ugly. MLN made a payment 04/04/07 as did my mortgage payment service. MLN cancelled payment since they were no longer required to pay.
Homecomings reversed both the MLN payment and the payment from my mortgage payment company. Homecomings did keep the money from my mortgage payment company and we have twice sent them the cancelled checks.

I have also made two 1/2 payments as part of my early payoff. Homecomings has yet to apply my funds to the loan principal. They have another little fundraiser... They hang on to funds due the first of the month until the fifteenth of each month. That means I pay extra principal despite making payments on time. Homecomings has continued to have their computer call me several times each week to ask where the funds are claiming I am late. They have charged me over $300 in late fees and finance charges. The payment resarch company has for the second time since April had copies of my payment history and cancelled checks and have not replied to our search request.

The second time we sent the history was 11/19/07, yet I received two certified letters threatening additional action by them on 12/03/07. As soon as possible my loan will be removed from their company. The customer service personnel are ignorant of their business and rude to customers. I strongly suggest they be investigated for unethical business practices.
