They claim not to have received a mailed payment

I can't help but wonder if this company has a pattern of "losing" mailed payments to justify late fees and the cancelling of low or no finance charge agreements. I'm absolutely certain I mailed them a check the same day I received the statement (5/13/09) and it was mailed to a nearby community. I opened my June statement and saw the late fee. My bank has not processed the check I sent.

Their customer service agent said she would make notes on the account about this but offered no recourse on the late fee.

I'm now in the process of converting to on line payments.
