I am at my wits end with this company. Last September, due to financial trouble we were three months behind on our payments.
I called and talked to a rep. And they told me as long as I had July, August and September payment in by September 30th that there would be no problem.
I called September 30th to do a quick pay over the phone and was told that the loan was now in default and that we would have to sign a forbearence agreement. At the time I called we owed 975.18 to cover the three months back and 310.06 for Octobers payment.
Apparently we racked up all kinds of attorney fees, interest, etc. First we had to send 1200.00 via western union and then pay double payments for Five months to the tune of approx. 3,175.00 totaling 4375.00.
We were told that all late fees from July through March would be included with payment. We made our last payment on February 11 and was told that everything was up to date. The next payment wasn't due until April 1.
We paid our Aprils payment approx. March 25. The next thing we know we get a letter stating we owe 165.00 for late fees and interest. I disagreed and they said to send a letter to the research department explaining my situation. They took half of Aprils payment and applied it to these supposed late fees and interest, held the remaining balance in escrow and demanded Aprils payment. I called and reluctantly paid 159.65 along with the 165.00 held in escrow to pay Aprils payment. (All along intending to send a letter to the research dept.)
The whopper! Today, I receive a certified letter stating we are in default again and owe 927.51 for late payments and accrued interest!
How can this possibly happen?! How can they justify this incredible misjustice? Our original debt should of been 3435.00 which would cover late fees and payment through May.
Instead we end up having to pay out 4375.00 and still owe 927.51! That's over 1800.00 above and beyond our original debt!
This company has to be stopped!
