Company Claims They Will Lower Interest Rates On Visa, MC, Discover, Amex Credit Cards They Would Not Say they would not say

I've been receiving these calls from Card Services or Priority Direct for the past year now and I've continually ignored them. A woman claimed that she could lower the interest rates on all my credit cards—Visa, MC, Amex or Discover to 0% in some instances, which I found incredulous. Basically, any type of credit card where they put a charge for their service.

It was confusing in that she said if I qualify (to qualify you had to have at least $4,000 in credit card debt), which of course at first I qualified. Then, all of sudden I didn't qualify after she put me on hold and called 2 of my credit card issuers directly and checked my balances. I had given her the cc numbers but not the expiration dates. I told her I didn't see why she would need my expiration date so I gave her a made up expiration year only. When she got back on the phone, she said I didn't have enough available credit as they needed me to have at least a $800 available balance on at least one card to qualify. She sounded like she could be somewhat legit, but I was very skeptical. She said there would be no charge if I qualified, but strangely, she had to put a charge for $500 on at least one of the cards to qualify. When I asked how would I get that money back, she said it would be on the savings from the lower interest rates. Ha!

So because of the lack of available credit on the two cards, she said I needed to call them and ask them to increase my limit to at least $800 more than it was, which I could do (but not for them). I would have never let them charge my credit card without documentation from them and asking my banks some questions. She said she was going to mail me everything.

OK now, when I asked for the company telephone number and address or website, lo and behold there is none, oh, except for the "qualified" customer. Meaning, if they can get $500 off of one of your cards. What really, really got me upset was after telling me she would call me in two days to see if I got the credit line increase approved was the fact that she mentioned she get back to me in a couple days and would take my folder home with my information. Big Red Flag! Oh God. No legitimate company will be taking credit card information and other personal data from customers and taking it home, then she stuttered and stammered that, "oh no, I'll be leaving here on my desk." I said, "your desk?" Then she replied, "oh no, it will be in a locked safe cabinet." Right. Now I knew I had to call my banks and cancel my cards and get new ones, which I've done.

No company telephone number or address, no email or web address. I can't call them, they can only call me. They are not legit and even if, like one complaint states, they call themselves a service and are not doing anything illegal by calling your credit card company and requesting that your rates be lowered, they still are an unprofessional group of thieves trying to sell you a story about how you need them to lower your interest rate, which you don't. I've called all my cards and got rates lowered every time. They were just claiming to get them as low as 1%. This company is probably not even a company, because they probably would be sued by now. I heard other voices in the background so it is a bit of an operation. But I would not EVER use them and obviously they have me on auto-dial once a month and I will report them to www.donotcall. Gov if they do not take me of their call list. An 800 number does show on the caller ID.

Every day a new scam is born. And people can just call your own bank and request the interest rates be lowered. If you don't have late payment history or overbalance and an established relationship, they do it. And they can do it for any rate they want. It's at their complete discretion. This company (??), if you want to call it that, makes it sound as if you need them to do it or they have some "special" relationship with visa, MC, etc. And that they are just waiting for their call to make them remove the interest rate from your account, even to 0% permanently. What a total crock.
