As a result of criminal activity by my ex-husband, I was left in a critical situation with my home. The Department of Housing and Urban Development, at the time, entered me into a program due to my severe circumstances. I was so grateful, as I needed to provide a safe, stable, secure home for my children. At the end of the program, HUD sold my mortgage to Ocwen, which became my next traumatic experience.
I cannot explain the harassment, runaround and sheer unprofessionalism I have experience while trying to deal with them. It would take days to tell my story. A HUD representative in Washington, DC told me that their employees lacked the knowledge the required to perform their jobs. She looked into it at said that they were receiving training. It never went any further. I filed a complaint to a supervisor at Ocwen about four years ago, who was to respond to me within 60 days. He never did. Another representative told me as he was laughing, "You'll never get a response to that letter".
Eventually, because I couldn't resolve this situation, they started forclosure proceedings against me. The resolution was they refinanced my loan for 27 more years!!! I'll be dead before my house is paid for.insult to injury is it would have been paid for in 2007!!! I felt I had no choice. Either refinance or lose my home. Needless to say I chose the latter.
I am currently going through yet another dispute with Ocwen. And not to my surprise, more lies, their lawyer trying to take money from me when I don't even know what it is for??? He said they will refund my money if it turns out that I don't owe it. Sure they will I wasn't born yesterday.
I know only too well their tactics. Not posting payments and then charging late fees. Every time you speak with a rep. They each tell you something different so you don't know what you are supposed to do. Which I might add, is always the wrong thing according to the next representative you talk to. And every time you are told you owe more money. Like I said I could go on for days. This is only the tip of the iceberg.
I look forward to joining the class action lawsuit against them. I have no problem testifying or providing documentation in order to support my position.in the meantime, hopefully they won't take my house away from me and my children before I can resolve the latest dispute with them.
