We too purchased a mobile home from Conseco in 10/00. At the time the payments seemed reasonalbe $319.00 a month. We have been making payments and have been behind several times due to being laid off, giving birth to twins, my husbands heart attack. Basically, just some of life's challenges all thrown together at once. We have been harrassed, cussed told we were deadbeats to no end. I am beginning to think that there staff cannot be very big because the names I have read I have also talked to them numerous times in one day. Due to the above mentioned hardships we have been forced into bankruptcy. My attorney advised me if I wanted I could reaffirm but in order to do so my home can not be classifed as a financial burden.in order to determine that I had to find the market value compared to the payoff. When I called Conseco they did not want to provide me with the payoff. I hung up called back and must have got a new trainne and got one mailed. We orginally paid 32,000 almost 2 1/2 yrs ago and currently owe 37,000. What the heck is going on with this company. We subsquently have decided to include the home in the bankruptcy and get the h - out from under this company. We have heard from Kim, Eric and the latest Amy. These people must have the most miserable life and feel the need to harras other people. They call 5-6 times a day. Leave threatening messages—one was we need to know the location of the keys and when would be a good time to come get the property. Haven't seen them yet. Is their anything we can do? I am sure there are some business laws they are violating and Does anyone know the new owners of Conseco? Maybe we should refer them to this site. My prayers are with anyone who owes Conseco lets band together and not give them one more of our hard earned money Kathy Greenfield, Indiana
