American Express
Ken Chenault ripoff

American Express-ceo Ken Chenault - And D. Jenkins Supervisor Customer Service american express allows business to be stolen from-dont accept their card! Phoenix Arizona... I have a bicycle shop and sold a new haro bmx bike on Dec. 28 2002 that the customer charged to his american express card. A few weeks later he came in and tried to return the bike. I showed him the sign with the return policy stating no returns right in front of the counter and he left. On Feb 16th, i recieved a letter from amex stating he disputed the charge and asked that respond with the attached claim form filled out which i did. I heard nothing till i recieved a letter on march 24th stating my account was debited the full amount of the bike $388.00. The reason was there was not enough information provided. At this point Im stunned. I sell a new bicycl-the customer tries to bring it back used-amex debits me the amount of the bike-amost 400 dollars AND the customer still has the bike! Yes im out just under $800.00 now. So i call up the chargeback office in ft lauderdale and explain the situation. They say they understand and if i had just called 2 days earlier-they could gone back and reopened the case and maybe re debited his account again. This is strange because I call the day after i get the letter. They say they cant be blamed for the post office being late. Then they tell me to call the cops to have them get the bike back from the mans house. Unbelievable-amex let the guy have a bike without paying Kim port charlotte, Florida
