From day one this *&^%$% company has charged me late fees on a second mortgage. So far they have charged me over $300 dollars in late fees since 2001 when they brought the mortgage from another hell business, First Plus. I was charged a late fee before I even got the paperwork that they brought the mortgage and won't credit that fee back either.
I have paid at their business office since 9/11 (because of the mail service not getting thru to Dallas, TX). My payment due date is the 25th of each month. I take the payment to the business office around the 15th to the 20th.
From there it is fed exed "overnight" as told to me by the office manager, to the company in Dallas, TX. There is a box for people to put the payments in and all the payments are put in the same batch and fed-xed. Now wouldn't you think all the same mail would be dated as it came into the company? I still get charged the $30 late fee every month cause they are saying they don't get the payment until after the 27.
I even had them send me a itemized statement and it shows the 27 of just about every month that they get the payment. I believe they hold the check until they can count it late. I called and complained and told them I took the payments to their business office (which I was told to do because of the mail problem) and then they asked if I had any signed papers showing that I paid it there and unless I did I couldn't prove it.
Now I get a signed paper saying that I made the payment there. I want to sue the pants off of this cheating company. They charged me late fees even when the planes were grounded 9/11 and the mail was not going anywhere. They won't even delete those charges either.
This is such a crooked company and sub prime pred.
