In November. I fell 30 days behind on my Mortgage payment. For the following 4 months I made payments larger then the suggested late fee payment.in April I offered to pay a double payment, just to be totally caught up.
Countrywide refused payment stating "I'm now in foreclosure status". For the months of April, June and July Countrywide refused payments. I finally sent them a cachiers check for the total amount for 4 months and late fees. I did this by sending them a Fed Ex (signature of reciept required. On July 1st this was recieved by Countrywide. Countrywide waited till July 13th to cash this check. Stating that they didn't know what to do with this check, even though my account # was on the check. Countrywide then filed foreclosure on July 15th, with the county recorders office. Then removed it again.
The refusal of 3 months payments and a fileing of forcloseure has ruined my credit. Now I cannot refinance my home, just to get away from Countrywide.
Countrywide now wants attorney fees, recorder fees and other fees, due to the filing of foreclosure.
I never recieved anything from Countrywide, stateing thier intent to file forclosure. Just refusal of payments.
I have over $100K of equity in my home and I belive that Countrywide did this purposely to gain my property.
I would like to find an attorney to gain back moneys from such a crooked company.
