I got my mortgage bill last month and was shocked to see that it was $200 higher! So I contacted my mortgage company and was told that they had done an audit and found that they had under billed me by @$1,200 for all of last year. So now they literally want me to pay for their mistake by paying $100 extra for the next 12 months. The way I see it is: I was presented with a bill for an amount that I paid in full so my obligation is done as far as I am concerned. Seems to me that if I paid my bill in full every month last year than its a done matter and if they made a mistake then they have to eat it. Am I correct in thinking this? Can they legally ask me to pay for their mistake? If not what can I do about it? Thanks
