I made a promise to this bank after almost 9 years that if they didn't return the money they stole from me in a months time I would tell everyone I could think of and anyone else that would listen. Unfortunately the month has expired without my money being returned to my account and I am tired of this.
This bank is so unethical, I can't believe something hasn't been done about them before this. On 5/25/07 the VP of communications for Citizens Bank plead guilty to stealing from the bank. 11/12/08 a different employee is accused of stealing $300,000.00.
That's just two of the many news articles I found. No wonder they have to resort to stealing customers money. I would appreciate it if you read it and passed it along to anyone who may be thinking of banking at Citizens (RBS parent company) or already is.

I would like to bring to your attention a situation I have been fighting for going on 9 years. CITIZENS BANK has stolen well over $700.00 from my account over a seven year period. I tried unsuccessfully for 7 years to get them to stop stealing the money from my account every month. Finally in 2007 I was able to get them to stop stealing the money, but they have yet to return the unlawfully taken funds to my account. It started in 2000 when I became disabled and needed a bank close by. I brought my lump sum check and opened an account with Citizens Bank. I was told at that time that as soon as my checks (SSDI) started being direct deposit (which after all the paperwork usually didn't take more then 3 months) the monthly fee would stop. It did not. No matter how many times I called or went to the bank. It didn't even matter which branch because I went to many. The fees did not stop until 2007. Then it took until just recently for anyone to even answer my many letters and emails regarding the stolen funds. They eventually returned a total of $120.00 to my account (according to them "in the name of good customer service") A far cry from the $700.00 they stole from my account. The $700.00 doesn't even include the funds that were taken for overdraft fees when they stole the money and put my account into a negative balance. I was simply asking for the $700.00 they stole in the name of monthly fees. I am not the only customer they have stolen from. Not long ago there was an article on AOL. With all the crap in the news about banks these days, I'd really like to see something done about this.
