Countrywide Home Loans
Rip off, wont help

I am writing this for people to see where my family stands in this situation with Countrywide Home Loans, and I first off what to say, if you have a negative thing to say like it's our fault the country is in the shape it is, then you can keep your words to yourself and apparently you've never had a rough time, or was born with a silver spoon in your mouth.

It really makes me mad to see people run their mouths about people when they have no idea how we feel, or they've never been in a situation like us, so how do they know how we feel? They dont do they? Anyway, I feel that people like you are the reason we are in the times we are right now. I mean look around people, there are families that are finding out tonight, their loved ones just lost their jobs, some of many years, some of not, but they are still in a rough spot.

Is that their fault too? We aren't complaining you fools, we are simply trying to let people know that this company is a fraud and they are hurting the American people. So until you have walked a mile in my shoes, don't judge me, or run your mouth about me. OK?

Well, we bought our home in 2007 and at the time, we tried through numerous banks and was turned down, due to a credit score, and a bankruptcy. We got a call from a Challenge Financial stating we could have the loan, despite this and it would be a VA loan. Yes, my husband is a veteran.

Anyway, we went through the loan process and of course at first Countrywide turned us down. We figured that was it because we didn't have enough income. Then a few days later, Challenge Financial called back and stated, hey, we can do it if we add your income and Joe's overtime as well. That's what they did. We were able to make this with Joe's overtime.

Well not only was this business a problem the realtor told us there was no way with the way the house was it would go through with the VA. She kept telling us to go to a regular loan. Well in the mean time Challenge Financial talked to her and someone from the VA came out and there had to be stuff done. THe repairs were supposed to be done and an inspector to come back.

Well all that was done we found out later was the appraiser signed the work that the contractor said they did and that was it. No inspection. The loan went through and in a short while, my husband began loosing overtime, and I got sick and lost my job, and then he lost his. We fell behind alot of months and Countrywide all they wanted to do was double the payment instead of trying to lower it. The people there were rude and some of them, didn't know what they were doing.

Anyway, we were told by the VA that with the times being the way they were, Countrywide had to help us. They were getting money from the government, the VA to redo the loans that was behind. They didn't. I even got our state senator involved and they told me they didnt' have to listen to his office, it was the way it was and they didn't have to do anything the senator asked.in the mean time, they wanted us to sell, our home was appraised at 160000, and now it's worth about 20000. We aren't in a ARM loan, but a fixed one, but the repairs is great on this house including the septic tank.

We found out recently that all of our plumbing goes into a drain that empties into our basement floor. Only one room goes to the septic tank. Having this to deal with and then finding out from a furnace repair man, our furnace is wrapped in asbestos as well. If the VA did inspect they would see this. I have a form that states in according to VA regulations, there has to be certain types of electrical outlets in the kitchen and bathrooms, we don't have that in fact only one bathroom has electrical outlets at all.

Then our half bath is off the kitchen and it's not supposed to be there. I know what some of you are going to say, why didn't you have an inspection of your own, well we were told since the VA was doing it, that they did a thorough job and we didn't need one. Now, since some of you feel that hey should've got a lawyer, well I can't afford one. I don't sit home and milk the state, I do work, it doesn't pay a whole lot and the fact of the state I live in there isn't high paying jobs.

This is a very poor state. So don't sit back and judge me, I'm just saying yes, we fell behind, however this company took advantage of us and the fact my husband is a veteran. Now they want us to sell, and they will get about 20000 out of it and then the rest is up to us??? I don't think so. THere was no inspection and the lady that did the appraisal used other houses in the area, that wasn't even remotley close to here, they used it in the county and these homes were in a totally different class then ours. Challenge Financial is a broker for Countrywide.

Now I did file a suit with our attorney general and they did ask me to get a lawyer for the home problems and such. It's been a total nightmare and we shouldn't have to worry where are we going to live, next because of a company that has went bankrupt twice and is still failing because they give loans to people like us. Yes we could've said no, but it is our dream like yours to own our own home. I don't want to have to tell my 13 year old son, we are getting throwed out because noone in this country has the heart to step up and help us.

I don't want a million dollars, I just want my home. I want it to be mine. Not belong to countrywide. I have lost alot of faith along the way in anyone helping my family. Cause you get the ones like I've read on here blaming us, and it's not our fault the way things are going. But maybe when it happens to them, they'll think again before saying things like they have on here. They don't know us, or how we feel, so they don't matter. All that matters is somone steps up to help us keep our homes and closes Countrywide forever.
