I have banked with Bank of America for the better part of over 15 years. I have had auto loans that I have paid timely and have completed paying off with them. I have had checking and savings with them in more than one area that I have lived in and a credit card with them for the past two years.
I noticed that the interest rate on my credit card was an outrageous 24.99%. When I called "Customer No Service" this morning and inquired as to why I am paying so much, I was told that back in August I had a late payment. I reviewed my records and found out that I was ONE DAY late. I asked the guy if something could be done and he just flat out told me there was nothing they could do. I believe he stated "This is our policy".
I then told him that this is a terrible thing to do to a loyal customer for so many years, plus the feds have lowered the interest rates for lenders as of yesterday down to virtually 0% and they also just had a 700 billion dollar bail-out and I then I (am somewhat ashamed to admit) screamed, "F-Off, F-You!" and I hung up the phone on him. Not the most mature way to handle things but I am so angry at this greedy, nasty corporation. It seems like bankruptcy could possibly be looming for me now that I my job and consequently my income have gone belly-up. I'm only too happy to let Bank of America get screwed for their money. Let them see how it feels!
