I purchased macintax from www.shopintuit.com which had free shipping. The order summary was emailed to me and I printed it out. The total came to $49.95 which I agreed to be billed to my credit card. Today I got an email stating that $54.32 was billed to my credit card. I looked at the order status which confirmed that the program had shipped and they charged me state tax!!! I don't mind paying state tax for stuff over the internet if it is disclosed to me upfront.&what I object to is agreeing to an amount to be billed via the internet to my credit card and having a company bill me another amount which is more than what I agreed to in the first place. This is a bad business practice. No where was it disclosed to me on their site that they would be billing me for state taxes for the product I was purchasing.
