I signed up for this service on 10/24/08, obtained the info I needed, and called to cancel 10/27/08. I talked to a pleasant customer rep who ID'd herself as Tricia Perkins. I told her I wanted to cancel and she said I had a full 30 days why not keep it at least that long. I told her no thanks and she said she'd deactivate the service. I asked if I needed a cancel # and she said no, but I believe she said I'd get an email. I never got a confirmation email when I signed up for this service, nor did they send me one when I canceled.
Lo and behold 30 days later appears a full charge for their service of $23.91 for a monthly fee. I got on their web site and did a live chat explaining that I had canceled via phone, etc. And a rude agent replied back that if I had done that I would have a cancel #. I said I would need to check my records and get back to them but I was sure nothing had been emailed and nothing was given to me over the phone by Tricia Perkins.
I've gone back to their contact us page several times and demanded a refund and to cancel and I have gotten no response. These people are outright cons. Don't sign up with them for a "FREE" credit report. Also beware that many of these offers go under different names so if in the terms and conditions you see their phone # to cancel as 866-781-7462 it will be the same company.
