When my account was with NextCard, it was always on time and never even close to it's limit. When Merrick Bank took over, they refused to send my statements, and my new card. I had no access to my account via internet and when I tried calling, I received no help. The customer service people were rude and unhelpful.

My address was verified several times both verbally and in writing. Then the phone calls started. They would call 3 times a day, but nobody would give me any info other then my account was overdue and they were required a $100 minimum payment. I told them, until I had access to my account they weren't getting anything and the response was always, "Well I will make a note about that."

Finally I received a statement along with the threat of collections, so I made the outrageous payment. I was called two days later by another associate who once again verified my address and somehow, according to him it was missing the apartment number. I told him that the address had been "verified" numerous times. I had requested payment options, and account info many times and had been denied all times, by very rude people.

By his own admission the company was in the wrong. I have filed yet another request that the $300 in late fees and over the limit fees be credited to my account as they have admitted fault, but have received no response as of yet.
