Complaint / Review
Choicepoint Financial Funding Group
10,000 loan

I read another users report, and I too almost fell for this scam. I like the other user was in a bad way financially and needed a personal loan fast. I contacted another website after a couple of days I received an email from this company stating I was approved here is exact email:

Dear Applicant,

Your online application has been forwarded to Choicepoint Funding Financial Group for consideration on this approval.

We are now pleased to inform you, that after a great deal of assessment; we were able to facilitate your request for a $10,000.00 approval. For your convience, one of our registered loan officers, Ms. Tracey Adkins has been assigned your file. You can contact your loan officer directly at 1-888-524-1114 ext 493 to discuss the loan process.

Congratulations and we look forward to doing business with you.

I called up Tracey Adkins and talked with her for a couple of days, she sent me the loan documents. I read through them very carefully, everything looked fine so I filled them out and forwarded along with a copy of void check, my ss card and my drivers license. Tracey contacted me again and stated that I was approved but it was a secured loan I would need to send 990.00 to secure the loan. I was scepticle at this point, but needed the money. I borrowed the money from my mother in law and proceeded to make the payment. After I made the payment and got to work (where I was going to call her and let her know reference # for moneygram), I was uneasy so I did some research before calling her. I found discrepencies from their website and the loan documents. The loan documents stated they had been in business since 2001 whereas the website stated they had been in business 10 years. Something didn't add up, so I contacted my wife to stop the payment and I called Tracey to stahl her just to make sure they were not randomly checking for my money. After talking with Tracey for awhile she stated that she would talk to her supervisor to see if we could split up the security payment.

The supervisor then called me back to assure me that it was legit, I advised her that I did not think so and if it was legit she could deposit the money into my account and take the insurance fees out of the deposited amount. She said that was not acceptable but if I was insecure about the wire transfer that I could put up my property as collateral (don't know how this would have helped them scam money) needless to say at this point I was not doing anything. I still have open lines of contact with Tracey though as she is still fighting to get me to send the money.

I have also called up with a couple of other names and the process starts all over just the same everytime.

One of the big clues on this scam was when you call the phone number you can dial almost any other extension and it is not valid. Also when you press 0 for customer service you get voicemail everytime. Tracey has a heavy Nigerian accent almost as well which gave me an uneasy feeling from the get go.

A couple of more points for the readers, the actual website www.choicepffg.com when you click apply it goes nowhere. The only thing that I am worried about with this scam is now they have all my personal information.
