Regional Acceptance bought my car loan 1 1/2 yrs ago and it has been hell ever since. I have reported them to every government agency I know of and they still curse me out on the phone and call me an unfit mother and a deadbeat and they're now taking my car tonight. I have made every payment and I have bank records to prove it. The problem is when the repo agent contacted me today out of the blue he said I was 90 days past due and my car was being repoed tonight. I know& what kind of repo agent contacts people ahead of time& well I don't know. Anyway I called Regional Acceptance corp. And they said that since April only less than half of my payment was being credited to my account and the rest was going for extra intrest they were charging me —without my knowledge. I told them this must be illegal and how could they do this and they said that they didn't have to notify me because of a cease and decist letter I was forced to send them earlier this year when they contacted all of my neighbors on my street and told them I didn't pay my car pyments on time. I contacted the main offices in Greenville, NC and got Fred Reherman. He is the CFO of Regional. He said that all the calls are recorded and he assures me that nobody at his company would talk to customers over the phone that way and that it was perfectly legal to contact my neighbors. Well I asked him how he would like it if I contacted his neighbors (I found the web site they used and I actually looked up Mr Fredrick J Rehermans neighbors on Hammersmith Dr in Winterville, NC). I contacted an attorney and he said that I could send a cease and decist letter requesting to be only contacted by mail.in NC this is within my rights. Well apparently I pissed off Mr Fred or someone over there by doing this because when I talked to the accounts manager tonight they said they credited my payments this way and couldn't notify me because of my letter and when I asked why didn't contact me by mail they didn't have an answer. This is unbelievable! I have to sue these people. They cannot get away with this. So now I sit in my living room awaiting reposession of my car. I would really like to set it on fire but I'm not sure if that would be illegal and I'm not too fond of being arrested. My only consolation is that I will finally be rid of these people and this company, may they rot in hell.
