I did not know they (CCS) have been reporting derogatory information on an account that is 4 yrs. Old that they said they purchased from another creditor, until I pulled my credit report.
When I disputed the information, the credit bureau contacted them and they again verified as correct. They are saying that I owe $1100 plus on an account that was $580. So now there adding in interest and fees.
About 7 mths. Ago, my neighbor downstairs told me I had a phone call. I dont even know this neighbors phone number, so they must have ran a check on the address and can up with his number.
I talked to them for a moment telling them to never contact my neighbor, or anyone again. My neighbor was upset that I was receiving credit collection calls on his phone. No to mention my embarrassment.
I wrote several letters to them asking them to "validate" this debt. They could not, instead they sent me a Forgery Affidavit letter that they wanted me to to sign. I again asked for them to validate and they responded that they already sent me one. Yet, they wouldnt send me a copy.
They has since contacted my EX-inlaws, who I havent been in contact with for at least 15 yrs, and my daughter, leaving messages, even on voice mail. They do this on a regular bases. Still.
I get constant letters from them, more and more threatening. Yesterday, July 14th, they pulled a credit report from Experian that I did not authorize. I'm constantly being bulled, harrassed, and embassed. Especially them contacting my inlaws.
I'm a single mom not making alot of money... And this is getting so out of hand, the embarrassment alone is horrible. They are NOT allowed to pull my credit to my understanding, yet they know they can get away with this.
I'm hoping I can get some help. I did contact an attorny awhile back and she said that I could sue them. But, she recommended I just pay them off. Please somehow help me on this. Im starting to have sleepless nights over this 'smaller' account. I received a letter today saying their going to take me to court for a judgement and gave me an attorney to contact.
