Bogus Late Fees Borrower Harrassment mistreated and ripped off...
Fairbanks Capital Corp charged me with late fees even though I made payments on time. When I sent them a "Qualified Written Request, " they apologized and adjusted my account. They even sent a letter stating they accidentally credited my payment to someone else's account!
17 days later, the sent me another demand letter (and charged me $9.95 for it) stating my account was 3 payments behind!
The 800 number they listed is staffed with condescending idiots who harrass and discriminate. They treated me like I was some deadbeat who never made a payment. Bear in mind. I WAS NEVER LATE!
To articulate how screwed up this company is, they send me my statement every month, TWO WEEKS after the payment is due!
Knowing this, I send the payment early enough to avoid the late payment fees, or worse yet, a negative report to a credit reporting agency.
Fairbanks Capital Corp is a rip off and they need to be held accountable.
