We, and the "creditor furnisher" in question, had some difficulties explaining to Experian that a derogatory was NOT a derogatory. (What's in it for the "credit reporting" bureaus to report bad information?) We finally took them to Small Claims. They never showed up, which only means they cannot appeal, and we just got a judgment of $3,000 plus costs.
You only have one life. Only so much Time out of your one life should be spend waiting on hold or mailing, faxing, disputing, etc. Cut to the quick!
Equifax and TransUnion are next on our Small Claims list, though they decided to fix the derogatory when they saw we were serious (which means they communicate with each other...), so we may not have a case anymore, which is nice.
At least until the bad information reappears...
