I made a late payment 3/1998 to Sears, and in dispute, paid off the card and terminated the account, which is reported by Equifax and TU correctly, but not by Experian. I have written them 4 letters over the last 4 months, and sent them copies of my TU and Equifax file, along with a payoff letter from Sears. Experian is reporting the late payment current (this year) and date of last activity of 11.
This late is supposed to drop off my credit report after 7 years.
Experian has sent me 4 replies saying they have previously investigated this and it is accurate. (last report 1297051277) My question is... Can I sue Experian in small claims court and ask for damages? These people must have a bunch of idiots working for them and I am ready to go POSTAL on them.
