On thursday april 10 i received a call from larry marshall representing horizon lending services. He informed me that he received my loan application thru credit.com and is calling me to inform me that i have been approved for a $5000 loan. I was so ecstatic because i really needed the money. He explained to me that i would receive the $5000 in my bank account in as little as 24 hours. It would be a 2-year loan agreement and i would only have to pay $225 a month a 7% interest. But first, i would have to come up with a collateral downpayment of $900.00 before they can release the funds to my account.
Larry informed me that i needed to wire the money to a stephanie bowlees in canada because she is with the institution that is lending me the funds. Everything sounded legit all the way down to the letterheaded forms.
On saturday april 12 i proceeded with the money transfer and called him to give him the reference number. He informed me that he will process everything and that i would receive my money the following business day which would be monday april 14. So, thinking that everything was good to go i proceeded on with my weekend.
No worries until monday afternoon i received a call from larry marshall informing me that my loan was re-assessed by the bank institution and that i would have to come up with another $900 in order for them to release my funds. I informed larry that the $900 i had already sent them was all i had. So, larry marshall offered me a refund of my $900.00. I immediately said yes i want my money back. And then i asked him when would i receive my money? Larry marshall proceeded to tell me that he will put a rush on my refund request but unfortunately the accounting department only releases the checks on the 1st of the month. So, my money would not be available to me until may 1st 2008.
At that time i started to feel sick to my stomach because the money i had sent them was part of my rent money and now i have to scramble to make ends meet. I was really devistated.
Well, may 1 came and went. I did not see any funds in my account like larry marshall guaranteed me. So, i started to call the company. I kept getting a busy signal for the first hundred calls i was making. Then after that i started to get a recorded message that would say "thank you" and then hangs up. I kept trying to call.
I started to search for a website but that was no help either. And then i googled the phone number and found this website. When i read about the scam i nearly fainted and was very nauscious. I cannot believe i had just got my money stolen from me. I hope these guys go down in the worst way. What goes around comes around larry marshall!!! I want my $900 back!!!
