In 1996 I had to get a HUD re-assignment loan from HUD, my man died and left me with no income. They sold my loan to Litton. I started getting letters requesting my financial information, which at first I complied with.in January I received a letter saying that I was behind in my mortgage and pretty much threating foreclosure. They started charging me late fees. I called and tried to find out when it was that I didn't pay my mortgage and they would not give me any answers even after repeated calls. Any way to make a long story short, since then they have been charging me a monthly late fee, regardless of what I tell them. I have called them so many time I can't even count. When you ask to talk to someone else like a supervisor they will put you on hold, never to return. When you do actually get to talk to someone they act helpless and stupid and give no help at all. These are the most infuriating bunch of people I have ever delt with. I once told them that I was recording this conversation for quality assurance and was told if I did that they wouldn't talk to me. I contacted my local attorney general office and was referred to the banking division, I had a fellow who was very helpful, then he quite. I was then dealing with another gentalman who was less enthusiastic about helping me. He did find out that the December payment that evidently started this whole thing was applied to the portion of my loan that is the balance of my reasignment, instead of applying it to the portion it was supposed to be applied to. He told Litton that they could not do that and that they must apply it to my active loan amount. They still send me papers to fill out for financial information, however I just ignore them now, I still get letters almost every month threating to foreclose, I just ignore them too. This has been going on now for nearly a year and a half. They have tried to charge me for home owners insurance and they send me something about this about every two to three months saying they have no proof on file that I have it, although my insureance policy renews every six months and I have to fax them every time. The website they have on the letter about my insurance doesn't appear to work, when I called the phone number and told them that I filled out the info on the website they provided, they told me I had to submit it twice. I asked why this information was not in the letter, and you guessed it, they didn't know. I will be filling a formal complaint with my Attorney Generals office. They recently went after AmeriQuest and won a settlement against them for their victims.in Iowa, they take a negative view in this matter, especially since the banking foreclosure debacle so many have had to deal with. Litton has picked on the wrong one this time, I'm not rich, but I'm not poor either and I will not be bullied by these people any longer. Folks who have to deal with these people need to unite.
