Purchased a car at a dealership didnt think I would get approved for a loan but capital one took me on. My monthly payments were about 320.00 a month. After about 8 months things for me financially became very hard. Notified capital one that I need to turn the car over to them. After about 2 months I receive a call from someone at capital one demanding I leave the car parked in front of my address so they can reposses it. I said fine no problem. That night tow truck comes picks up car including my plates. I did ask the tow man if I could have my plates so I could surrender them to dmv and I was told that capital one would take care of everything and I was doing the right thing by not putting up a fight. Now its 4 months later and I find out that my license was suspended because the plates were never surrender by the bank. I was told to get in touch with capital one to get a letter from them stating they told the car but everytime I called captial one they sent me to their collection agency. The agency in no polite way tells me " honey they dont want to talk to you you own them money and they will not cooperate with you until you pay them." Then they proceded to ask were and why I would pay my balance of $8000. I dont even know how much the auctioned the car off for since I never received a letter of any kind. This bank is a joke and I have been hearing the work the same way with their credit cards. The collection agency still calls me and now calls me at work but I was told that I must received something from captial one stating proof of what the car was sold for. As far as the letter to send to dmv I finally got a letter from the insurance company and after a very nasty phone call to some customer service person I finally got some respect and received a letter from capital one. Be careful out there when purchasing a car make sure it is not going to be capital one, they have no heart nor do they care about how people might have to live. I say to Captial One take a number and get in line for your money. I couldnt make my car payments so what makes you think I can pay you now.
