Complaint / Review
Nationstar Mortgage
Dishonest, Lack of Integrity, Discriminatory, Unethical Practices

Dear Mr. A b. (et. Al),

My name is Laura. I was contacted by one of your company's recruiters, Krista XXXX. My contact information was most likely given to her by Marlowe XXXXXX, one of your other recruiters, who had access to my name, number, and email address because my husband, xxxxxxx, who recently was asked to complete all of your application paperwork, upon having interviewed with your company numerous times, five total to be exact, used me as a personal reference. My information was given to your company by him upon the belief that the privacy of my information, along with all other information disclosed on his application, would be regarded and cared for with the highest integrity. Below (see bottom of email) you will find the email that your recruiter Krista xXXX sent to my email address.

To begin, I'll address this event. Your company employee's contacting individuals from other unsuspecting candidates applications, while I imagine, is not illegal, is, in my opinion, a highly unethical practice.in light of my husbands experience with your company, which was one of the most abominable interview events I've ever witnessed, I'm not surprised. You should know that I have every intention of making mention of how unprofessional Nationstar Mortgage is every opportunity I get. Additionally, I will be posting this letter on an internet blog already containing complaints against Nationstar to offer further insight into the companies practices. I do not appreciate receiving unsolicited emails and telephone calls from your company requesting me to submit my resume to your company.

I think you might be interested to know, as I'm sure you're completely unaware, just how ineffective some of your employee's are. My husband has 15 years of mortgage experience, including extensive experience both managing and running mortgage companies. He has worked for and held management positions with quite a number of the leading mortgage companies in the industry, including Countrywide. As well, he has held executive level positions, including VP positions in Sales & Marketing of Retail Mortgage products.

My husband agreed to move to Dallas with me upon learning we were going to be having a baby, so that I could be closer to my family. He left his job in California, and upon arriving here, applied for a management position listed by your company online. He received quite a few calls from various Nationstar employee's regarding his resume. He initially spoke with a woman named Marlowe XXXX. Upon their initial conversation, my husband informed Marlowe that he was only interested in interviewing for the Sales Management position, as this was the only available Nationstar position that would allow both he & Nationstar to more effectively utilize his knowledge, experience, and abilities.

Long story short, upon the fifth request for him to come in and interview with yet another VP, after having devoted one and hrs. Of his time to just one VP alone (not to mention, he had also visited with four managers & executives by that point), in response to both his & my own protestations, Marlowe assured XXXXXX that he would be interviewing for a Sales Manager position, that he was an extremely strong candidate and would probably be given a position after chatting with Ned T. Reluctantly he agreed to come into your Lewisville office a fifth time. Upon arrival to your company, Marlowe did not say one word to him about the fact that he was NOT going to be interviewed for the Sales Management positon, as promised, but rather just escorted him into an interview room and went on about her day. Likewise, he was repeatedly told he would receive a phone call regarding their hiring decision within 24 hrs. Of his interviews. My husband was never interviewed for the position, nor did any of your employee's ever follow up in the manner they promised. Further, after that 5th interview, Marlowe told him via email that she would touch base with him as soon as she was told of the hiring decision. About one week later he received a letter informing him that Nationstar had decided to go with other candidates. Needless to say, he never heard a word back from Marlowe, nor any of your other employee's.

Mr. Bxxxx, et. Al, in my honest opinion, I believe your company's representatives are engaging in racial discrimination on the down low, along with deceptive practices. None of them have displayed any real consideration for other's time, efforts, or rights. I am further convinced of this in light of having received this letter requesting I submit my resume to your people.

All this said, the joke is truly on Nationstar Mortgage. Clearly, your companies serious failure to meet or even come close to your sales goals is, in large part, due to inept staff. While I think highly of my husband, and am thus partial, his credentials more than speak for themselves in terms of the value he adds to any company... Despite the fact that he's a big black man with a pony tail. His professionalism and sales capacity is unparalleled. He's consistently ranked w/in the top 2% of the sales force... Nationwide... Everywhere he's ever worked. He patiently demonstrated this to each of your employee's throughout each interview, not just in conversation but, by providing actual documentation to substantiate the accomplishments listed on his resume, and remained far more professional than I ever would have if I were to have found myself being subjected to these types of practices.

That your staff would be taking their time to email me, a person they know little about, while all the while sending out rejection letters to someone with 15 years of proven experience in the Mortgage field, who patiently and politely obliged them, despite their idiotic behavior, and whom More than meets and exceeds the job requirements, is quite astounding really.

In closing, I agree with your staff. My husband is far too dedicated to a high standard of excellence and professionalism to ever engage in these practices your staff currently embraces. Likewise, I hold myself to a standard of professionalism that would also clash with deceptive, invasive, and racist practices.

Respectfully,

Xxxxxxxxxxxx
