Had an account with Capital One that went delinquent during divorce.in August received bill from Forster and Garbus that I owed $1115.14. As of March 6 I have now paid them $1120 and wrote to them that I wanted acknowledgment that bill was paid.
They now say that I owe $520 more for assorted court costs. Asked what court costs? The say they served a summons in October which I never received either the one they say the served me with or the one they say they mailed to me.
Say they have called multiple times but only number they have is cell phone and there is no record that they called. They say they called my house (a number they don't have) and spoke to a friend. I don't have any friends over to my house and no one else answers the phone but me.
They claim there is a judgment against me in court yet I can find no evidence as to such. I asked them for itemization of court costs and they said they couldn't provide that. They then called and made a settlement offer if I would give them checking debit card info. Today and they would close account.
I turned them down. Does anyone else have troubles with them and how did you solve it.
