Commerce Bank constantly finds ways to charge NSF fees and other fees.
On March 7th, I received my pay check via direct deposit. I paid my bills on line as I always do. A check came in and cleared the account. With an ATM transaction that was pending, my account went negative. Commerce Bank allowed the transaction to take place. But, it made my account go negative.
I deposited cash on Saturday morning and asked the teller when it would count. She said immediately.
On Tuesday morning, I checked the account and another $35.00 fee was taken from me for NSF. Although, my statement never showed a negative balance. The check cleared the account with no problem and the deposit showed prior to the pending transaction. But, I was still charged a fee.
Commerce bank is constantly preying on those of us who keep minimum balances in their accounts. They find ways to rearrange deposits and checks that clear to charge NSF fees.
And when you call them to complain, they tell you there is nothing they can do for you.
Another instances occured when I deposited a check into the account. I knew I had outstanding checks. So, I asked the teller when this deposit would count. She told me she could make it count immediately.
The next day, a check cleared the account and bounced. I called and argued with the branch I made the deposit at and my branch. Neither would acknowledge that the teller told me the deposit would count immediatlely. They told me it conveniently counts for ATM transactions and cash withdraw. But, it does not count for clearing checks. How convenient
