Contract was sold to Fairbanks in 1/02. I had been sending my monthly mortgage payments to them beginning 2/02.in March I received a letter from an attorney stating that my loan was in default.
I contacted an attorney and wrote a letter to the Iowa Attorney General and they sent it to the Banking Commission. Fairbanks sent statements stating that my payment was about $60.00 more than my payment... With no explaination as to why.
In 4/02 I was going to refinance the house and learned that the loan was still in default. I called them and they stated that the payments I sent was in suspense. They still would not give me an explaination as to why my payment had risen.
To this date I have not been able to get a correct payoff amount
