I received a phone call from a company stating that they would be able to
help me rebuild my credit if I accepted their credit card. They gave me the specs on the card, which sounded pretty good: $2000.00 credit limit, Visa,
6.9% a.P.R., no annual fee. Sounded pretty good! The thing about it was,
that it was too good to be true. The catch was that they wanted a fee
up front to process the card. This was not unusual because many credit card companies impose fees when dealing with less than perfect credit. These guys wanted $200.00 up front and upon receipt of this, they would issue
the card. Well, I bit on this, not having time to think this over on the phone,
and after giving them my bank info, the deed was done.
I was told by the rep that I would receive my new Visa card within a few weeks to a month, accomanied by a voucher for $200.00 to be used towards
my first few bills.
At this point in time I have received nothing from them. I have tried calling them, only to reach an answering system, and then being hung up on.
I suppose I could chalk this up as a very expensive lesson, but when you are layed-off and every penny is tight, giving money to jerks like this really
fires you up! I just hope someone gets a chance to see this in time to
stop these rips from nailing another victim!
