I received a call from this so called credit card company and was told that I had been pre-approved for a credit card with a minimum credit limit of at least $2,000.00.
I replyed I wasn't interested and I already had several credit cards, but the lady insisted that neither my Visa or Master Cards would rebuild my credit the way thier card would.
She said that they would report to the credit buearu every month and all they needed to do was verify I was in good standing with my bank and make sure I had no over draft fees or fraudulent activities on my bank account.
She said if by any chance I was denied credit I would be possibly asked for a small deposit, 10 % of whatever my credit limit would be and this so called credit would be available for cash withdrawl and "I could also request thier catalog to purchase merchandise"
All she needed was my bank routing # and account info to verify my "good standing with the bank", well I asked her to hold on and the lady must have thought I clicked over because I heard her whisper to the person beside her "I got one".
I played it off like I was really falling for it and acted like I was really going to give her my bank info, I told her I was worried about giving out my bank info over the phone and I would prefer to just give her the bank's contact info.
That way she could call and verify my account was active and in a positive balance, she became very irritated and said the phone call was on a secure line and they must have my bank info to proceed and that the deposit of $200.00 for the minimum $2,000 credit limit would be refunded back to me as soon as my card was issued.
I still refused to give my routing number, she became down right rude and said "If you don't want to rebuild your credit then that's on you M'am and hung up.
After that call I looked up Ameritrust Financial and came to this web site I saw all the fraud reports and I had to tell my story.
I am so thankful I didn't fall for this scam and I heard her say what she said, this company is a fraud and a scam for people with less than perfect credit. I checked my credit report and all of my credit card companies have reported my on time payments which has improved my credit score to the point it may not be the absolute highest but it is defiently high enough not to be considered for "Credit Rebuilding" like this woman tried to make it seem!!!
Stay away from these people and get a reputable card through a real credit card company!!!
