I have read many complaints about Midland Credit Management and Aspire Visa.in a few it named a law firm that was involved. I actually have been dealing with all of the same stuff for years. The law firm involved with them in my case is Mann Bracken, LLC out of Atlanta. Is anyone familiar with that name or had any experience with them?
My story is long and very closely mirrors many of the stories about this company. I will not go into too much detail. After the lawsuit was presented to me, on my wedding day I might add, I fought it diligently. I spent day after day phoning and faxing the attorney's office. This was in January. I was successful in getting the lawsuit dropped and the collection removed from my credit report. Well...
My husband and I are preparing to refinance our house and we pulled our credit reports. The collection is BACK but only on Equifax. It was originally on all 3 but that is the only one it is showing up on now. I have my old credit reports that show "Paid and Closed" under the account.
I will be buying a recorder this weekend and on Monday I will start the process of trying to fight this. It is so frusterating! I have done a lot of research and learned more about how to go about this. One step will be to record all conversations. I have learned I need to ask for written varification of the debt. (Which they will not have!) I also have the complaint forms ready for the FTC and state Attorney General's office.
I am just curious about the law office that I listed since I didn't see it on any other forms. Also would like any other advice I may be overlooking.
