We had some trouble paying some debt last year and got into a debt management program with Credit Solutions. They told us to stop paying our debt, put $188.00 in our savings and in 4 years we would settle our debt with debt settlement.
In January we got a letter from a debt collection firm called Mann Bracken. We tried coming up with a resolution for this balance but turned us down everytime and said no they needed the money upfront. We of course don't have that kind of money and couldn't get help because of our income to debt ratio.
We have since enrolled with Cambridge Credit who is making payments to Mann Bracken for Chase, even though they have turned down the proposal. Since then we have received a arbitration in the mail, which we have responded to. So now we are sitting and waiting on if there will be award granted, not knowing if we are goiong to have a lien put on our house, garnishment of wages or if our checking account is going to be frozen.
Just wanted to let people know of this scam because they are not out to help you but put you in arbitraton or even bankruptcy. Also, if you don't have money to make a settlement then this is not the debt management program you want to go in.
