I did have credit cards with capital one. I fell behind when I got into a car accident. I did pay the credit limit on my cards and my checks were sent to capital one. The checks were accepted and the the limits of the cards were paid in full.
When I went to buy a house. My credit was ruined by capital one. The Mortgage Company made me do a 3 way call with a company to verify that I had paid my Debts and that I was Clear. This was done in order for me to get my loan. Capital never corrected my credit Report. The company that verified my status was named Kroll Factual Data they did a three way call and recorded the conversation with capital who verified that my accounts were paid. The lady from Kroll Factual Data told me to get hold of Capital One and have my Credit report corrected. Capital one would never correct it.
I have had to pay higher interest rates because of Capital one and my credit status is horrible because of Capital one. I still have the Cancelled checks.
