I am so sorry that I ever got involved with BoA. I called to take advantage of transferring all my debt to one account. The promo offer I received in mail stated 7.99% - when I called - I was told it was 14.99% — I took the offer "paid-off" $50k) because I planned to xfer that balance back to a much better rate offered from Chase (4.99%) — I received the first statement - not only was I charged over $700 in interest for that 1 month — they hit me with a separate $1500 "transaction" fee that I never agreed to.
When I called to explain that I wasn't aware that I would be charged $1500 - the rep said - "that was disclosed to you - nothing you can do about it now" and then proceeded to hang up on me! I paid it just to make this nightmare end — I also paid off the loan and closed the account so I would never have to deal with BoA again.
I called on 10/4, just to ensure this account was closed an there was no balance — and I had a credit of $1.53. I just got the mail - and now I have a balance of $431.35! I just called and spoke to Gloria David (Cleveland branch) and asked how I could have a balance of $431.35 when last week I had a credit of $1.53? She said - "you failed to get a payoff amount" — when I told her that this was unethical business practice and wanted to speak to a manager - her response wwas "ma'am, I am not going to discuss this any further, you have a nice day" and then she hung up on me. What the heck?
I am going to pay the $431.35 because I'm afraid this will never end (before Gloria David hung up on me — she told me that this was the current "pay off" amount)... Does anyone have any advice on how I can be assured I don't keep getting bills from them? I don't know what else to do.
I closed the account, paid it off, called to ensure it was closed, was told a week ago that I had a $1.53 credit — and now I get whacked with a bill over $430? I just want this nightmare to end with BoA. I should have trusted my instincts and not have ever done business with them - they are unethical and shady. Thanks
